About Me

A Life Dedicated to Teaching and Social Impact

My career has been a dynamic and evolving journey, yet it has always been anchored by my core values: a deep love for teaching, respect for family and community, and an unwavering commitment to social needs. I have continually sought new avenues to apply these principles.

At heart, I am a teacher. My formal education includes a Mathematics degree from Ruia College, Mumbai, and a PhD achieved after settling in London. My professional experience in education is extensive:

  • Head Teacher in London for 15 years.
  • Examiner of Mathematics , ESOL Assessor for prestigious UK boards.
  • Head of Department for Marathi at Cambridge International board, a role I continue to enjoy even today. My passion for the Marathi language also led me to work freelance for the Maharashtra Times.
  • Author of a book for ESOL students.
  • With over 25 years in the field of education, I felt a strong pull to leverage my skills for greater community good, which led to the creation of Kolumbus.

    Repaying Society: A Lifelong Commitment

The value of giving back has been instilled in me since my youth. As a teenager, I taught in Adivasi Vasahat in Pune, and as a young teacher, I would read to blind students from the school in Worli, Mumbai. Even now, I actively, regularly volunteer for the VIP club (Visually Impaired People) of Brent, UK. I am also a very active member of the Maharashtra Mandal London, where I have served as a Trustee for many years. In my personal time, I find joy in cooking, gardening, and socialising.
